Computer speakers, or multimedia speakers, are speakers designed for use with computers. However, they are also capable of being used for other audio purposes, such as listening to music on an MP3 player. Most of these speakers have an inbuilt amplifier and so require electricity, which may be supplied by a mains power supply, an AC adapter, batteries, or a USB port.
Computer speakers come in a broad variety of quality and pricing points. Computer speakers are often tiny, made of plastic, and have dismal sound quality. Certain speakers have equalization adjustments such as bass and treble.
